There's an FD RX7 turbo in my neighborhood that's just being moved around from parking space to parking space once a week. The owner's neighbor who is a couple blocks from my dad has a 993, C5 Corvette, and Z4 among other things and in a brief conversation a few years ago mentioned that the owner just doesn't have time to drive it. So my dad, after seeing a clean, red FD sitting day after day, is having my write a note to put on the car in case the (apparently busy owner) would be willing to let go of the practically unused car for less than a typical RX-7 in its condition is worth (i.e. near what the slushbox NC miata he is about to pay off is worth). It would be cool to see a car like that in the garage and drive it somewhat regularly! The chances of such a thing happening are slim, though.
Took me forever to find a non-brotastic example of an RX7 on google. No SR20s of the actual car.

"non-brotastic"
I think we've found our new term for "non-riced" cars. :D

Agreed. All you have to do is type in RX7 on some image search engine. The funny thing is that people don't even reference the RX7 as a car that's impossible to find in decent condition.
They didn't even give a shit about the "form" of this one, just stuck a damn baseball bat in each wheel well and rolled the car on it.

Yeah much cheaper but illegal unfortunately. You find good deals on the NA ones here, and those are arguably as fun because they just rev for an eternity and have no issue with it.

I wish I could find a NA as easily as a $20k turbo

It's on my top 5. It shows clean lines and nice curves while having a refreshing simplicity. I particularly like the rear treatment but it's an original design throughout.

If it's moving around and you have a bit of extra car money in the budget and willingness to put a bit of work in, you should! I say if it's moving around because its ability to drive is perhaps the biggest thing. If not, it would need a bit more freshening up and there would be unknowns—but there's nothing like taking an old car, changing all of the wear items, filters, and fluids over a weekend, and going for a drive (I actually don't know but it sounds pretty good). There's a '66 Falcon Futura in my neighborhood that moves from space to space and has surface rust on the doors. It's a slushbox economy car from the 60s with an OHV straight six, so not worth the work, but I'd jump on it in a second if it were a four speed and/or 289. The 280Z could be a fun project if the owner's willing to let it go on the cheap side (or a bit of a daunting rehab) but you should leave a note!

that's the weird thing, it looks clean and has no visible rust (in NoVa, that's rare for an S30 living outside) and it used to be under a cover, but for the last year or so it hasn't been covered and I haven't seen it move EVER, so unless he only drives it early in the mornings or late at night to my knowledge I really don't know if it runs. Looks clean though, I wanna check if it's Manual. If so, I'm leaving a note and offering $3000 for it. If it runs, that's a steal.
He also has a 60's dodge yacht that I can't remember the name of, also looks clean but i haven't seen it move.
